Hello, sorry to hear you're experiencing issues :[
I would try this:
Hold your finger down on your camera app for a few seconds > app info > storage > clear data
- Repeat step 1 for your other camera app
- Test both camera apps for audio recording. If it works, good. We're done.
settings > system > reset > reset apps
this'll tell you what gets reset before you confirm.
so you'll have to change background battery and data usage to unrestricted or denied, redo permissions, notifications, etc. Probably just opening the app and hitting allow/deny will slowly get you back to where you were rather than going thru 100 apps at once.
settings >apps > see all apps > 3 dots top right > show system > search camera > pixel camera services > permissions > allow everything (you can also clear the storage of this too and any other app that shows up after searching "camera")
Test out both camera apps.
There are 2 things to consider if it still doesn't work: the speakers or audio playback is not functional on your phone or my pixel phone has a microphone near the cameras on the back, maybe that is broken for you.
(You could test hearing audio after transferring the video to a computer or other device)
If phone calls work for you, then maybe the rear microphone doesn't work.
Last things to consider if it still doesn't work.
first
Back up all contacts, texts, photos, WhatsApp messages, calendar (if on device. No cloud), screenshot of where you place your app icons on the home screen, etc
- Factory reset the phone, test again
- Flash Google stockOS and test camera audio recording
