Hello, 18 and 15 do not work in France. Dial 112 in case of emergency.

There is a setting under Network > Internet > SIM settings that is called "Allow 2G". Is it enabled ?

Karim No this parameter is not activated. I was on 4g. The 112 worked when I wanted to call the SAMU.

Karim Anyway it was a big emergency, my 2 year old daughter fell down the stairs, I wasn't going to look for the network settings in the phone. I tried 15 and 18 several times, but they didn't work, and 112 was fine.

It sounds worthy of a GitHub issue filing. But I don't think it makes sense for anybody who isn't in France to file it -- if nothing else, only people in France would be in a position to test a fix.

I wanted to look into this more; even though I'm not in France, this thread had me a bit worried.
According to source.android.com the AOPS emergency number database file is located within packages/services/Telephony/ecc/input/eccdata.txt

A quick search in the GOS Github repos led me to the entry for FR in eccdata.txt here.

Now, I'm asking for help in interpreting my findings:

In eccdata.txt,112 is listed with routing: EMERGENCY. However, 15, 17, and 18 are listed with routing: NORMAL. The same is true for eccdata.txt on googlesource.com, so entry listing for FR appears to be identical between AOSP and GOS.

My question: does the routing: NORMAL entry mean that 15, 17, and 18 are not recognized as emergency numbers by AOSP/GOS (and as a consequence, cannot be called from the emergency dialer)?

I apologize for being elliptical. My point is that I don't think Google makes people pass a coding interview before they can file an issue on the AOSP issue tracker.
