Anonymous For what it's worth, I switched to the pixel 7 pro, installed GOS, put in my T-Mobile Sim and it's just worked. I really have had minimal to no issues. I never had to touch APN settings or anything else. I've convinced several people to flash GOS to their pixel devices and they say they can hardly tell the difference between it and stock (only referring to usability, not privacy/security features). Sure there are very minor bugs here and there, but it really is a unique project and is overall trouble and maintenance free.

To the OP, did treequell's suggestion solve the issue? Just want to make sure your problem has been resolved.

I'm certain there is nothing wrong with GOS. I am convinced that if I hadn't, somehow, pissed off the Gods, this new phone and OS would have brought me respite from my long suffering. Indeed, it is why I chose the combination after tireless research.... it was going to be my dream realized, but it will remain only a dream if I can't figure out how to connect it to some sort of service. I don't want to have to resort to calling the carrier and give them access to my phone. I'm at a loss, short of maybe reinstalling GOS, buying another SIM from another carrier + data plan, and trying, yet again. I am very sorry that my defeat and resignation and desperation have come across as combative. OCD, autism and sleep deprivation are a terrible combination. I really wish there was someone here that could help me troubleshoot the issue because I have tried everything I can think of short of providing the carrier a code to render the security of my device null. And, again, if this is the wrong thread for problems getting around the "Emergency Calls Only" connectivity problem, please direct me to the thread where the people are whom have had this problem and know how to fix it because I am all tapped out.

Thank you for offering a solution! I believe those are the same parameters I applied prior. I already reinstalled GOS and intend on trying a different SIM card. Or, pursue a different communication method altogether, as carriers are hostile. I appreciate your time and suggestion.

@Anonymous T-Mobile should work out-of-the-box unless you purchased a used device that's on a standard list of stolen devices and is therefore banned by their network. Is it possible that's the issue? If you found a great deal on a used device, that could be why it was cheaper than other options.

GrapheneOS That is a good question! Thank you! It is possible. I ordered it on ebay from a seller with 600+ and 100% positive feedback. It came as advertised, new in box, with all accessories, all in their pre-used state. It was preinstalled with GOS, and just under $400, so a good deal in my mind after all the horsesh*t I've been through the past month and a half. It all appears legit. Though, I have reinstalled GOS in case something went squirrelly with the initial install, and also because I don't exercise much blind trust. I haven't tried to set up the TMobile SIM yet as I'm second-guessing whether or not I want to jeopardize my privacy to that degree, Privacy being first on my list, Security close second... to me, they are really one and the same, but choices must be made, so.... The first thing that I looked at was the APN settings as I have experienced that as an issue in the past. When I opened the APN settings, not all of the appropriate fields were filled in, so that's why I installed them, from the TMobile site, manually. It didn't work, gave the same "Emergency Calls Only" and "Phone not allowed for voice" messages, but no other alerts that would prompt me to consider I may be in possession of a stolen phone. I don't believe it is, as the seller is one who does this on the regular and I don't know where he would have stolen so many phones in this condition.

The SIM did come out of my old Samsung, which could be why the APN settings weren't correct? And I had problems with the SIM due to the fact that it was a Verizon Samsung and there are issues sometimes, many times apparently, with carrier unlocked Verizon phones being incompatible with TMobile. So, installing on an OEM unlocked device shouldn't have been an issue. Also, one of the things that was attempted at the TMobile store with the Samsung, was inserting a different SIM to rule out a faulty SIM, but it was the same outcome no matter what TMobile SIM was used. So it probably isn't the SIM, itself. Though, it could be.

It sounds as if you have tried reinstalling GrapheneOS on the Pixel but have not yet tried a new TMobile SIM card in the Pixel. if that is correct then trying a new SIM card seems like it might help.

Another possibility would be flashing back to Google's OS and seeing if the old TMobile SIM card works that way, but that seems like more work and arguably an inferior overall result.

I think the older your SIM card is the more likely it is that replacing it will be helpful.

de0u The SIM is less than 2 months old. The Samsung device was the beginning of this hellish journey that has been dragging on for an inordinate amount of time. The current hold up is that I'm trying to discover if it would be better, or even possible, to do all communication over WiFi, rather than connecting to a mainstream cellular carrier, as they are every bit as bad, if not worse, than Google in terms of privacy violation. There was a thread about Wifi not being pushed through VPN due to the phone constantly seeking carrier WiFi validation or something, and causing data leakage? This was 7 months ago, and I have commented in that thread, hoping someone has either found a work around or that GOS has fixed the problem. Based on what they were saying, as soon as I install that SIM card, I'm screwed on the WiFi route, unless I reinstall GOS yet again. Thanks for the input, though.

T-Mobile worked fine for me. I had the SIM in an iPhone and put it in my Pixel 7 and fired it up and everything worked. I've had zero issues with Graphene OS.

@Anonymous I'm glad to hear that your issue has been resolved by using another SIM card. As you mentioned, I agree that this very likely has to do with the carrier and not GrapheneOS.

That said, I've had to remove some of your latest posts as they veered off into other territory and used some very odd terminology which we'd rather not have on the forum. I hope you understand.

I will leave this thread open for now in case OP still needs help with their issue; let's try to stick to the topics at hand and not veer off into political characterizations and statements, it quite inevitably leads to arguments/noise and takes away from the purpose of this forum.

matchboxbananasynergy I would love it if you deleted all of my posts, except maybe the ones in the thread regarding Sensors permissions and the thread regarding Wifi calling being routed around VPN, as the Sensors permissions thread might actually have simple enough explanations for people with the same curiosity, and I'm still waiting and hoping for someone to respond to the questions I posed in the Wifi VPN thread. The rest is really just unhelpful drivel which I would have already deleted myself if it weren't for the fact that there's no option to. So, please, be my guest... or let me know where it is that I have control over my own content. I don't even see a place to delete account should someone wish to leave the project. Was this an oversight? Or am I just looking in the wrong place?

I have a Pixel 7a.
I have 2 users: Owner and User1.
I can use phone with Owner.
When I tried using phone with User1 I got message:
Only emergency calls allowed.
I enabled the permission suggested by treequell .
Settings > System > Multiple Users > Allow guest to use phone.
I still get this message with User1:
Only emergency calls allowed
I tried restarting phone and still doesn't work.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
