I ran into some problems last time I installed GrapheneOS with the web installer. Here are a few tips I wish I'd known. Feel free to post your own tips below.
- If you install from a desktop PC, be sure it has at least 30 GB of free hard drive space. Otherwise the OS won't let the installer use enough temporary storage to download GrapheneOS and you'll get errors on the web installer page.
- It's possible a particular version of Chromium will glitch out. If so, try using a different (officially supported) browser or operating system to perform the installation. Otherwise you'll have to wait for the next update to your browser.
- If the installer glitches out on you, your device might show a red corruption warning before booting. You can normally fix this by flashing the Google OS, then installing GrapheneOS again. Follow the link at the bottom of the GrapheneOS web installer page to get to Google's web flashing tool.
