I have been having trouble putting my albums on my Pixel 6 with GOS.
-Previously tried putting an album on with multiple "artists" for different songs listed for a single in the metadata (this can cause MP3 players to sort albums per artist instead of per album name)
-Album sorted into a very odd file structure under "audio" (as seen in the left tab under file manager) with the structure "artist name"/album/all songs in the whole album
-This also caused the album to be sorted into artists in my music player app called Auxio
What I want naturally when viewing my music is the structure to be album/all songs
In the album which was causing a trouble, an album with multiple "artists" per song, I gave all the songs one artist to see if that would fix the problem. It did not.
The problem with the music files sorted into "artists" first, album second, and all album songs last, persists even after I edit the metadata in the music files to avoid having multiple artists in one album. For some reason, Graphene Files is remembering the old structure and not taking the new metadata into account. Artists that I have completely removed from the music file metadata are still appearing in Files.
This problem does not exist for any music album that simply had one artist to begin with. I assume the issue is with some cache that needs to be purged but I have not been able to find anything in the Files app.
