Does anyone have any thoughts or potential concerns about the US Nationwide Emergency Alert Test on October 4th?

wigwhom I must be missing something, what kind of concerns?

It will work fine. GrapheneOS supports the alerts perfectly fine.

wigwhom It's a testing of the system. What is there to be concerned about?

I have confidence in GrapheneOS, but I am not as well versed on the security side. I was hearing that there are potential downstream security risks where if you are able to receive these alerts, they can also retrieve information from the device. Are there any security downside to having these alerts forced to your phone? People mentioning to turn your phone off that day, which seems a bit far fetched to me. lol

The alerts are private, there is no issue to be had.

      Skeptical. Source?

If somebody says "I hear that dandelions can creep into your house and steal food from the refrigerator", I would ask for a source, also to see some mobile-dandelion video.

@de0u, hey, it could happen. haha

Awesome, I was pretty skeptical of their claims, so I was expecting a "No, you dummy." response to my question. Thought it best to ask the community to be sure.

      Thank you.
