Since the "turn on wifi automatically" is not implemented in GOS I tend to not use the automatic off function either. Are there any privacy or security issues with leaving wifi on all the time? Does the MAC address gets broadcasted to nearby devices or something similar? My understanding is that it won't broadcast since the hotspot is off, but I want to clear up this question.
Wifi always on - security/privacy issues?

TrustExecutor there are of course risks to leaving it on, otherwise an auto-off feature wouldn't be implmented. Your device could auto connect to an AP it has listed but is actually a clone, such as if you visit a frequented public place and use their wifi, have it listed and a malicious actor spoofs the AP for a MITM attack (Man in the Middle) with something like a WiFi Pineapple etc.
As far as what privacy you can expect and your MAC question:

TrustExecutor I have the option for turning WiFi back on automatically on my Pixel 6, but it doesn't seem to work, so I have been leaving it on all the time as a result.
Anyone know if there is a reason it isn't working?
