Thanks for that. I'm just confused about a couple things. At what stage do I remove the "non-stock key"

Would I unlock my bootloader, remove the non-stock key, then proceed to flash the stock image and relock the bootloader?

angeloweb since there is no reliable system-wide backup tool available, I would recommend to do it manually. See which of your apps are able to export data to files, or you can copy Android/data/"app specific" for those that don't. The best way is not going back to stock :)

But there is no procedure of how to actually do this.

shbsssn Yes, that is still the correct process.

If I were doing it I would take the following steps:

Open the GrapheneOS web installer, and with it:
a. Unlock the bootloader, then
b. Erase the custom boot key.
Close the GrapheneOS web installer.
Open the Google Web installer, and with it:
a. Flash stock Pixel OS, then
b. Lock the bootloader.

Thanks for this clear overview.

Indeed don't forget to close the tab with grapheneos installer or the google installer will fail with an error: "another adb instance seems to be using your phone. adb kill-server."
After closing grapheneos web installer you might have to restart the bootloader for the google installer to see you phone.

so went through above as gos doesn't work with Bank of Scotland or Kroo bank apps which I need.

everything went fine through all steps.
stock rom said successfully installed.

now the pixel fold phone is stuck in a boot loop showing G, and occassionally rebooting or going into fastboot mode about 4 times so far after 10 min each.

Tried to go into recovery and doing a data reset but that didn't help.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and what is solution?

lawman That is odd. Maybe charge the battery up for a while in fastboot mode and then try flashing again?

I tried the web flash tool twice and it kept pixel fold in a boot loop, despite wiping etc.

I ended up using the manual flashing procedure from below link, which chatgpt told me would be more reliable. It was. Works perfectly now albeit not GOS any longer but at least I can use my banking apps. I still have another GOS device, but what a bummer that the banking apps suck so much.
