grapheneos-enthusiast I don't understand this part, isn't flash.android.com meant to be run on desktop?

Officially their web installer does not support flashing from mobile, but it has always worked for me regardless. And even if the flashing process fails, it's always been able to detect the connected device.

Just to chime in, a few weeks ago, I did not succeed, installing GOS onto a Pixel 6a with a Pixel 6a that was already running GOS. The devices was just not recognized by the Pixel that was running GOS already. Whereas I could install GOS onto a Pixel 8 with a Pixel 7. Both times I was trying with standard settings, using Vanadium.

Double check your cable, even the OEM one tend to fail at some point.

I use a single GOS 6a to flash other 6a, 7, 7a, 8 and 8a without problem.

When both are plugged in and your "guest" phone is in bootloader but not recognized by the "host" you are flashing from, just leave it plugged but restart it in bootloader and it will appear.

my cable was new, as I bought a new pixel, and it worked the other way around, it is just the pixel 6a that's doesn't recognize any connect device.

your describe behavior is probably a good work around but does not sound like the expected behavior.

just a memo for those who stuck with "restarting device" state in Vanadium webusb after an attempt to flash (where it starts with "writing", then target device reboots into fastboot as expected, but vanadium continues to show "restarting device").
Please ensure you don't have "desktop site" turned on for grapheneos.org. It appeared that for me only mobile site version showed button "reconnect device" upon execution of subsequent "restarting device".

I just tried installing GOS to a updated Pixel 10 with Jan 2026 patches from a GrapheneOS Pixel 6a with Vanadium and OS both up-to-date. I used the official Google Pixel usb-type C to usb-type C cable which was included in Pixel 10 package. The OEM was successfully unlocked from developer settings and I got the Pixel 10 to boot into fast mode.

The web-installed however gave an error on Pixel 6a "Failed to execute 'requestDevice' on USB': No device selected.

Hmm. Anything I can still try if I want to install from my current phone or must I try a computer with a supported browser next?

Desktop Site setting was not on. I have the same problems as people reporting above.. Over 90gb free memory too.

Have you followed ALL of the steps in ORDER on the web-installer? Starring at: https://grapheneos.org/install/web#unlocking-the-bootloader

After pressing the Unlock bootloader button on the web-installer do you see a button/dialogue box appear with your Pixel 10 listed below?

You have to select/tap your listed device first then click the Connect button.

If you dismiss this dialogue box, you get the error you mentioned. If you don't see your device listed it's likely due to your USB-C port setting

What is your Vanadium USB setting found in > 3 dots > Settings > Site settings > USB ?

Is it the default Ask first? If so you have you given the site permission to access USB.

Vanadium USB setting was set to "Ask first", however I don't remember it asking or any pop-ups..

UseLinux Maybe try pressing the second button from the left of the nav bar (beside the Home button) - It should have a circle plus line on top and a line plus circle on bottom. A menu will pops up, then select Permissions and see if there is a setting for USB there.

userofgos Nope, good ideas though and thanks for trying to help me. I checked the permissions from the second button and there's nothing mentioned about USB there. It's like the Pixel 6a doesn't recognize the official Pixel 10 included cable.
