Setup:
- Pixel 6
- Latest stable GrapheneOS update (2022082400)
- App based, always-on VPN with connections outside the VPN being blocked.
WIFI Calling used to work prior to the Android 13 based upgrade on the stable branch.
I had some of the problems with VPNs on mobile data on Android 13 discussed in other threads, but this issue is a bit more concerning imo, since, at least in my case with my specific provider:
- I can't call others
- Others can't call me and additionally don't get the option to speak on my mailbox
- I don't get any notification whatsoever that somebody tried to call me
A few symptoms of this issue probably are provider-specific, but disabling the always-on/block outside connections settings paired with a few restarts in between didn't fix it. The only way to get the call functionality back was to disable WIFI Calling altogether, VoLTE on the other hand seems to be fine, even with the VPN enabled and outside connections blocked.
I can test this further if needed, but so far I wasn't able to find another mention of this problem. Does anybody else have this issue?
