android auto can't be installed due to it's overarching perms, but has anyone been able to use the ford sync apps on graphene? It used to work with some older versions of waze and the like, and didn't need any special apps other than blutooth+usb transfer enabled for android (10, I think).
I'd ideally want osmand to show up on the dash screen (I have it syncing traffic data with live tiles), but setting up screen mirroring requires an HDMI adapter and an expensive head unit mod where they wire up more cameras. Graphene doesn't seem to like connecting up to the car and gives a no compatible app prompt, even when I load up a known working old build of waze which had the support.
There's no ideal spot to stick a phone up to the car, and I don't like the idea that I'll burn my screen out with an hour-long commute. If there are firmware mods or some sort of way to mirror my display up to the head unit, I'm all ears. I'd rather not have to set up a whole isolated profile for driving with its own selective perms tho. All the was made obsolete after ford made a deal with some euro driving company to exclusively sync without apple/android auto for sync 4, so IDK what info is available to find compatible apps in 2023.
Most of the guides about mirroring are for dudebros trying to play netflix in their headunit, I just want non-trash navigation without android auto. If all else fails I could just use internet sharing and one of those small android devices that enable wireless, but this is trading alcohol for black tar heroin considering the security of those little things.
