I can't seem to get Signal to detect Sandboxed Play Services. I'm seeing a message saying "Optimize for missing Play Services" asking me to disable system battery optimizations and, whenever I exit the app, I get a notification telling me Signal is running in the background.
I've given network access to Play Services, Play Store, and GSF.
I've granted Unrestricted battery usage to Google Play services.
All of this done BEFORE I installed Signal. Uninstalling and reinstalling Signal did not help.
The frustrating part of this is I now don't know whether Play Services notifications work properly for any of my apps. If Signal's not working correctly with Play Services, other apps probably aren't either but just aren't telling me.
What's going wrong here? Is my Play Services install broken?
Also, is it normal for messaging apps like Signal to have "Allow setting alarms and reminders" enabled? I've seen this on other apps too and I'm wondering if they also have this enabled on the stock OS (i.e. with functioning Play Services).
