GrapheneOS Releases are generally available immediately to devices set to use the Alpha channel. If the release works well for Alpha users, it is likely to be released in a day or two for devices set to use the Beta channel; if that goes well it will likely be released to the Stable channel soon after. You can see which channel your device is set to use via "Settings", "System", "System update".

Note that downgrade protection means that if you switch channels to try out a new release you won't be able to switch back to the older GrapheneOS if you don't like the release you got via a faster channel. Neither switching release channels nor sideloading an older OTA image will work, so the earlier-access channels may be best for second devices or adventurous individuals.

Please note that I do not speak for the GrapheneOS project.

    [deleted] ?

The nature of the question being posed is somewhat obscured by the choice of phrasing.

[deleted] I can only guess its preemptive answer for those who are going to ask why they haven't received the update ?

anybody having problems with their fingerprint sensor after the update? mine stopped working right after i installed it yesterday, any idea if the update got something to do with it?

stoyi are you referring to the ongoing issue with fingerprint missing after starting a user profile ?

stoyi I Just replaced my screen protector and calibrated my screen using google's tool and it's still unfortunately not working + i tried to reprogram my thumb and it now just errors out just before half way :(

Skyway no, my fingerprint sensor stopped working yesterday after i installed the update and i'm trying to figure out if it's a coincidence or the problem is with the phone

stoyi oh , no I haven't had any issues with 2 devices personally

I have not done this, but I have read that it helps to run Google's tool twice.

Profile biometrics issue that went away in one of the last releases apparently came back...

stoyi screen protects and the finger print scanner don't go well together. Have you tried fingerprint without scree protector ?
I use screen protector and fingerprint its very fussy at times .

Latest update (2023071100) stuck on "Validating system update" ~ 60% for 3 days

I have a Pixel 6a, and it started to update from 2023070500 to 2023071100 on Wednesday (July 12th).

It got as far as "Validating system update" around 60% before I went to bed that night. All day Thursday (July 13th) and yesterday (Friday, July 14) and so far today (Saturday, July 15th) it has stayed on the same place.

I was hoping it would time out or something, but it seems persistent. My phone is not hot, but does drain the battery a little faster than normal these past three days.

I have tried logging out, rebooting, leaving the phone off for a while (approx hour). Leaving the phone booted up, but not logged in for a while (approx hour). As soon as I log back in, and all my notifications return, the System Updater is back at the same place.

Is there anything I can do to fix/resolve this?

Today my Pixel seemed to finally discard the previous update attempt (which was stuck at varying). Instead it downloaded the update again from the beginning and successfully upgraded to version 2023071100. I wish the 'time out' was significantly shorter, but I'm extremely pleased that I could just ignore it and eventually it fixed itself. Thank you GrapheneOS!!
