analog clock not on Lock Screen

Overall very impressed with GrapheneOS! But I have a First World Problem: I can't get the analog clock to display on the lock screen. I select it in Settings, if I hit Preview it shows up, but it's never there IRL.

There was also an option to display it while charging or while charging + something. So my problem may be that the phone isn't always plugged in? (Very impressed with battery handling under graphene.) I hope not! I really want that analog clock as the standard all-the-time clock.

Another thing I saw in other discussions: no analog clock unless all Lock Screen notifications are off? Really? Again, I hope not!

Is there a config file I could edit? Any way of doing this?

Natively GOS can display standard digital clock and double-line digital clock. Perhaps there's an app that could do what you're after - and I would never install it.

GOS' perceived minimalism is a benefit - you have what you need, sans trinkets. Normies dug themselves quite a deep hole lusting after shiny things. Wouldn't you agree?

Also, one could interpret GOS" purpose as that of certain finger to the establishment. Think of it this way: it's a sparkling new sports car. Do you really mind it can't tow a trailer?

I take your point and I do realize that the more shiny things you accumulate the bigger your attack surface becomes.

I was hoping to just get the option working that's in Settings. The one that says "analog clock." Why would they have that option if it doesn't exist in GOS?

Anyway, it's not a huge point, but it would be nice to get it working. Not at the price of installing 50 trackers, as you say :lol:

I'm a fan of analogue clocks myself, and sympathize with folks who like them. They're elegant and there is a rapidly growing segment of population who can't read them now (highly amusing and disturbing at the same time).

Are you aware of a native widget that offers an analogue clock? I always have one in top left corner, as real estate there isn't too useful.

This isn't available on the lock screen, but such trade off, as mentioned, is acceptable to me.

Hi matchboxbananasynergy. Steps I followed below:

`settings -> display -> screen saver -> choose "customize" clock ->

final screen:
"Screen saver settings"

Style
Digital

Night mode
very dim display for dark rooms

[tap on "Digital" brings up dialog labeled "Style". top button: Analog, bottom button: "Digital"]
tap Analog changes Style subheading to Analog

back to Screen saver settings
tap Preview button at bottom -> shows analog clock on standard black background`

But never displays it under any other conditions. Not as a screensaver, not on Lock screen. Not when charging or docked or not charging.

Sounds like it's one of those minor bugs that will probably get dealt with in time.

Meanwhile, itsjpb: what exactly do you use for that? Where do you get it? Sounds good!

daff moon phase has a customizable widget that will show the current phase, then you can drop the analog clock widget over it. you gotta resize a little bit to make them match up but other than that it's clean and simple.
