I was fiddling around with some of my profiles and popped my earbuds in to drown out background noise; when music started to play and I confirmed it's not from a secondary profile.
It seems to be playing from Admin/Owner profile.
Things to note:
- It's coming from Deezer. Online streaming.
- I can control playback with earbuds like normal; skip, rewind, fast forward, volume control
- Deezer was NOT active or had been run prior to going into secondary profile.
- Deezer seems to be installed to secondary profile but is NOT signed in, confirming music began playing from Admin/Owner profile.
- There is NO indication of music playing anywhere on screen. Not lockscreen, not notification panel, not anywhere. This bit I find a tad concerning; I can't find the right words but is that not a potential security flaw?
If you were connected to Bluetooth but device is muted or not in ears could it not still trigger microphone somehow, like if instead of music it was a call? Or broadcast imperceptibly silent tones to human ears but other devices could pickup and process? I don't have article on hand but I've read of this happening even with air gapped machines.
My question is this; is it a bug or intended feature that I was able to start music from a cold start (not cached or background process) with headphone controls while in a secondary profile? To my knowledge this shouldn't be possible? Would love clarification, thanks.
