As the OP I came back to see if any development. A lot of wasted time answering accusations/suspicions here. I wonder if that time could have been put into actually implementing this! Not complaining, but I do SO wish this could be achieved.
Also, someone mentioned merging answer and record into one button. That wouldn't help me at all. The main reason I want auto call recording is because I often make a call, and only afterwards wish I had recorded it, or I intend to record but if you press the record button immediately after they answer, it doesn't stick, so you have to watch the button to see if it stays activated as it often doesn't, its ok if you press it a few seconds after they pick up. These issues mean I often WISH I had recorded something and didn't, either because I didn't thinkn I'd need to until its too late, or because I hit the button, saw it turn bold (recording), then notice later on when important legally binding comments were made,and it wasn't recording, causing much gritted teeth and dismay :)
I get the points about legality, but really I see no relevance. Graphene allows me to go on Tor, where I could buy drugs or worse. Graphene allows me to send SMS and calls, where I could harass or threaten someone, but I don't. It's a tool, how the user uses it is where the legality applies, there is no comeback on a knife maker for a stabbing done by a buyer of a knife, nor on a computer manufacturer for a hacker's activities. I see recording calls the same way. by all means add a 'warning, check your local laws', but i dont see it as an argument against implementation.
It's legal where I am to record calls with or without other party consent, and I am involved in things where a recording is my only protection against some govt overreach or other legally defendable positions where I have no defence without proof of what was said.
I so wish I could auto record every call, and once a week skim through and delete all/most. CubeACR can do it, I may have to go back to that, but it's so spammy and horrrible, they all are, and none of them record in the quality (and audio balance between both sides) as the built in record function.
I beg of you, please try to find time for this, it would be so useful to me and I am sure many others. I understand the limitations on time and priorities etc, hence why I can't claim any right to demand it, just a polite pleading is all I can do.
