Anyone used herewego app. It's a Google map alternative. Osmand and others do not work well at my place. I read privacy policy I couldn't find anything serious besides I'm using it with Tor. Opinions?
Here we go, Google maps alternative
The huge strength of gmaps is the live traffic feature. If you're looking for just simple routing or map viewing, there are tons of options. Unfortunately, there are no alternatives to gmaps when it comes to live traffic since no other has the mandatory participation of 90% of all smartphones globally, whether they're running gmaps or not.
This maps also has live traffic feature
I was just wondering about the privacy policies
Organic maps is foss, fast and fun! For me its better thsn the cluttered osmand
Here we go, sygic, tom tom, all seem to work well, but if your looking for a more privacy minded alternative Magic Earth seems to work the best for me.
twitheatrophonic Sure, but it won't have adequate data.
Magic earth! It does give live traffic data. Not as good as google maps but it does the trick for me

Sorry; can't help with herewego.
FWIW I've started testing Magic, Organic, Osmand, and Waze - and thus far find great utility in a new-to-me app called GMaps: https://f-droid.org/packages/us.spotco.maps/.
It is a very quick frontend to online googlemaps which keeps me from having to install the app. It won't provide verbal guidance, but it'll find locations the other apps can't find (street address, campgrounds, local roads, etc.), show traffic, and then obligingly opens one of the other apps providing the address (lat/long) you found.

Waze I believe is an isreali company with actual mosad people at the helm of it. I would steer clear. But it has very good traffic data, so I've heard. Never used myself.
Herewego I've heard doesn't have good privacy. Would like more info on this though.
There is no alternative to google maps' business info and perhaps traffic data. I would either run in vanadium behind VPN, or install the app in a dedicated profile with a VPN. So this way you can use it when you really need to.
User2288 wasn't Waze bought by google

Wayz I think it's called? Is meant to be a good alternative for driving and traffic/road navigation. But for a good map, I've been using organic maps from f-droid.
+1 for Magic Earth, I have been using it for a while now and it's pretty good. The voice navigation is less specific than others out there, but I actually turned off the voice anyway because the map navigation is pretty good on its own.

Is there a support forum for Magic Earth. I had some questions, but it seems only the FAQ exists.

I like it. It is basically WPA of Google Maps. But at least it doesn't seem to share session cookies with Vanadium, I hope.

Great find!
Question for the Magic Earth folks out there - is there any way to get the apk outside of gplay or aurora?
I'm hoping to use Magic Earth in one of my "cleaner" profiles that uses Obtainium / manual updates only, but I had trouble finding a way to do it.
I am settling for Organic Maps for now, but the utility is limited for me without traffic data.
Has anyone figured out an "off gplay / aurora" solution for live traffic navigation?
Thanks all!
