Camera app crashes and restarts the phone

Hi, I recently treated myself to a Pixel 6a with the intention of using GrapheneOS, I really like it.

This is my first post, I wanted to ask if someone is experiencing crashes with the graphene camera app?
Sometimes I take photos and the app freezes, the phone restarts and I lose all taken photos. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Hi there, welcome to GrapheneOS and the discussion forum. Glad to hear that you're having a good experience with your new phone and OS.

It's not normal for the app to freeze and cause a soft reboot, especially if it occurs regularly.

Next time it happens, could you generate a bug report please? Immediately after the phone reboots go to Developer options and Generate a bug report there. We'll then see if a GrapheneOS developer can look at it, so we can get to the bottom of the issue.

I suggest that you contact a GrapheneOS developer to have a look at the bug report. You can ask in testing chatroom on Matrix, and start a private conversation there: https://matrix.to/#/#testing:grapheneos.org.

In the meantime, have you altered the settings of any system apps?

I read the bug report, I'm not an expert but I couldn't seen PII but I could be wrong.
What type of PII could be seen in the bug report?

Update
Just in case this could help someone:
I have installed Google Camera and I don't know why but it works well with Google Camera.

Any other app that access the camera the phone freezes and restarts though.
