[deleted] official releases

Nope.
As I already explained above. Joplin has two different "official" releases. There is the link to the the Play Store version on Joplin's website. But there is also a diferent newer version provided by Joplin on their Github page. https://github.com/laurent22/joplin-android
Reading around on Joplin's forum, it sounds like it's hard for them to keep the app up to date in the Play Store, because, they say, Google keeps changing the requirements for apps in the play store. So by the time they develop an update, Google often changes the requirements and they can't post it, until they update it again, etc. In that regard, it seems perhaps the Github page is a better, more "official" source.
As I also explained already above, IzzyOnDroid just provides the compiled apk signed by Joplin directly from Joplin's Github page. So perhaps it is a better source for "official" updates. Except even IzzyOnDroid, for whatever reason, took a month to notice the update on Github. I would assume it checks automatically, but maybe not?
That said, perhaps that means using Obtanium is the best way to keep Joplin up to date.
Anyway, as I also already said, it's a mess. Joplin should make the situation more clear on their website.
