Can't OEM unlock Pixel 4a

Hello!
I'm trying to install GrapheneOS on my refurbished Pixel 4a (not the 5G version), and I can't seem to turn on OEM unlocking. It says that OEM unlocking isn't allowed on carrier locked devices. I looked back at the listing I got my phone from, and it says that it is a verizon phone. I assumed this would be fine, as I use verizon anyway. Does anybody know how to fix this? Can I call verizon or go into their store?

randomdude The best you can do is try and sell that phone and purchase a carrier-unlocked device. Pixel 6a is expected very soon, so it is worth waiting for that.

randomdude Like [deleted] said, the best you can do is return or sell that phone and purchase another one. Some carriers like T-Mobile unlock devices for customers once they're paid off, but Verizon can't/won't and there's no way around it (save for a serious vulnerability).
