enable multi-display boot animation feature to display it on the outer display of folding devices too

expand Sensors permission to custom sensor types added by devices which includes temperature, pressure and proximity sensors for Pixels in practice

Looking forward to seeing these. Is this launcher change going to improve the UX of the launcher?

I really like the animation but I think it should show GrapheneOS's logo for longer.

It seems like 6 seconds on Google's logo but then just around a second on GrapheneOS's logo.

It seems one of the Launcher changes is now the layout options are small, medium, large and XL. Last I remember it had specific ratios like 4x5 or something. Switching to XL, yeah that's definitely new lol.

A bit confused about:

Previous update says "full 2026-10-05 security patch level" . Does that mean GrapheneOS is using kernel drivers newer than the ones Google is using or is it the other way around?

bKwwuap57D2bSFhHigrX The kernel driver changes weren't part of the Pixel Update Bulletin for October 2026 which is what it's explaining there. Google is often adding artificial delays to providing the kernel drives for Pixels. It's a violation of the GPLv2 since there's no legitimate reason for it but rather they're deliberately making it painful to obtain the kernel drivers likely as part of trying to give Pixels an advantage over other devices. Android 16 dropped Pixel support from AOSP and also switched to rebasing out the entire commit history for Pixel kernel drivers. They subsequently switched to only providing kernel drivers through tarballs in Google Drive folders requested via Google Forms. They often provide the sources within hours or a day and other times they take weeks to do it. It's unacceptable and we're going to take legal action if it's not resolved soon. We expect they'll quickly solve it once they realize we're serious rather than needing to take anything to court.
