Installed alpha security preview on 9 Pro Fold and faced strange behavior. After reboot and app optimization I rebooted again. No GOS logo on big screen appeared. Power button did not start system. So pressed power button and vol-up for a while and then re-tried. System started, finishing update came again, then again a question to re-boot. Battery percentage is not displayed but a grey bar instead. System setting, battery shows a message that battery level can not be read. System stats say, battery manufacturing June 2024, first use June 2025, load cycles 85. Any advice or logs to provide?

To me, it sounds like an issue with a cable that connects the 2 halves of the phone. Sorry mate :(

Getting a proper diagnosis would be best thoughwith a quote for the cost. Not sure if they big screen would need to be replaced but I think that's around 1,000 euro (wild guess)

Update: rebooted again from big screen. No GOS logo appeared. Waited for some minutes, then shutdown via vol-up and re-boot from small screen (so folded). System started, then battery percentage was shown on small screen, then unfolded to big screen, battery percentage not displayed but grey bar instead. Folded to small showed bat.percentage, then system battery showed 85 percent, then unfolded to big screen showed percentage as well. No while typing this text on big screen checking system battery shows again message that problems in reading battery level and percentage value is replaced again by grey bar in top right title status...

Johnnyloans any idea how to check or sending in to G? It is still within 2 years warranty but bought via other dealer and not G store?!?

My question was more: how to cross-check, that it is not a software issue or is there any long list of symptoms that let you conclude to the upcoming HW failure?

As of now, both screen work besides the mentioned issues starting now. Which might end up in a return from G, that no HW issue has been found..

rebooted 3 times now after last reply:

Folded: outer screen shows different OS being loaded, then colored G, then boot is finished. PIN entered, then unfolded, battery percentage shown and after some time replaced by grey bar, then re-booted from inner screen.
Unfolded: inner screen shows different OS being loaded, then colored G, then empty screen, no GOS logo like used too, waited for a minute but nothing happened. Shutdown via volume-up, folded again, then power on to start

@GrapheneOS looks like booting from inner screen is no longer possible and system get stuck on a 9 Pro Fold w/o GOS logo when booting from inner screen. Should I open an issue on github and provide some logs? No more issues so far besides strange battery behavior when 9PF is opened. Battery OK when folded.

Everything is fine @ 10 Pro XL! Had a higher battery consumption with 2026100201, but wasn't quite sure what it is about, it's gone now. Thx!

So this might be the cause for the higher battery consumption? It's fixed with ...1006.

GoSaM Likely an issue with the interconnect cable that is embedded into the display/frame assembly. Google has a 3 year extended warranty program going, check this.

Peacetilence came across some error reports and cross-checked, that battery percentage is fine until an opening angle of 70%. If opened beyond 70%, then problems in battery connection. Percentage is then replaced by a grey bar followed by a "?" ... When folding back below 70% then percentage is shown immediately. Camera and eSim connection are not (yet) hampered. Will check IMEI in an authorized repair shop, if my device is covered by the 3 years extended warranty so that a replacement device will be provided by G. So after all those years they might get my data...
