Hello from the slow side, pixel 7a.
I know, old device.

App optimization took me from 8pm till 11am next day. 80 apps approx.
Opening app for parking fees feels like I have all debugging turned on.. lazy.
Started to think I need hw upgrade.

Corngood With SAS reenabled, it went back to crap to me. But I had disabled it and didn't re-enable, it's a second day and so far, so good.
It still feels that it's not perfect, but I think it's some sort of perception issue as I'm probably looking for these lags more than I did before this.

I am not running any Accessibility services/permissions. Using Niagara Launcher.

After clearing System UI cache and restarting my device, so far its smooth again. Except for one issue:
Taking a screenshot used to be near-instant. Now taking one takes 5-6 seconds.

I'm not sure if it will stay performant for long if something is filling up system memory in the background though. Hope a fix can be found!

UPDATE: A day after doing this my phone started to slow down to a crawl again. Definitely seems like some sort of memory leak (?) or other issue that gets worse with time.

Restarting my phone did nothing. Clearing System UI cache instantly sped up the phone again.

iyanmv None of the 3 GOS devices I interact with had noticable slowdowns, so not in that sense. But in the sense that it was an Android-wide issue with no relations to GOS specifically, yes.

GrapheneOS which in practice means 2 or 3 heavy memory apps in the background like a webcal sync, a VPN, or so. So quite easy to get there I guess

Not to be pedantic, but just so people don't freak out and turn off their VPNs.

Both examples would use very little memory.

I sideloaded the 2026100200 update this morning on my Pixel 9a and as per the release notes, it's fixed the issue for me.
