The GrapheneOS team is not in charge of a timeline, because Google holds the cards and Google isn't talking.

I think it's plausible that there will be a long wait. I think there was a long wait for the 10, too... it seems the first regular release was in December (source).

This sort of thing is one reason why the Motorola partnership is so exciting. An OEM who is willing to work with the GrapheneOS developers could lead to all sorts of improvements.

For the Pixel 11, there may be news before December, or there may not. The news may be good, or it may not. That's the situation even if many people are hoping for something different.

Zeynontv No news yet. However, I would recommend getting the Apple model—it supports satellite connectivity and MTE, unlike the Pixel. Also, the processor is built using 3nm technology, whereas the Apple chip uses 2nm—making it a generation ahead and superior. Furthermore, the Pixel likely won't feature a grapheneOS.

freshop2012 Are you using AI for your posts? You have been active in this thread and yet you make claims like "Pixel doesn't support MTE / likely won't feature GrapheneOS" when it seems the opposite may be true even though we don't have full confirmation yet. It is true though that the Pixel 11 currently doesn't support MTE.

Also I doubt a single nanometer makes that much of a difference. It definitely doesn't make the phone "superior" in any other sense.

But yeah, we don't have news yet. @Zeynontv just read a few posts up and you will have all the current information that is available.

freshop2012 Definitely thinner, but superior? It is about saving precious materials, more and more difficult to get, not about superiority in any operational way I guess. Both do the job.
P.S. I had a superior huawei, thin and made of glass which was lighter and took less space than my previous phone with a metal frame, but broke way too easily when I sat on it once 🙄

Pixel 11 will likely be improved to meet our requirements. Android 17 QPR2 Beta 4 added back MTE support after our initial thread about this. It turns out hardware support does exist. It's not clear why it was entirely unavailable and disabled in firmware at launch. There may be something wrong with it which has to be worked around in firmware. It may have simply not been implemented yet. We're now optimistic that we'll be able to support those alongside the Motorola devices.

It's too bad they ruined it by cutting MTE.

I wish someone at Google communicated so people wouldn't be switcharooed with their purchasing decisions but oh well.

negrutul A similar situation here. I had already packed my Pixel to return it, as today is the last day of the 15 day return period. However, I changed my mind. Instead, I'll be trading in my iPhone 15. I also watched the iPhone 18 presentation and was rather disappointed.

freshop2012 As far as i was informed from google support, one has 14 calendary days to deposit the product. When the return label is generated, it's valid for 14 days. So maybe you still have a 2 weeks gap.

I think the expected December arrival is the official A17 QPR2 (not any beta of anything).

The issue could in theory be resolved before then. And it's even possible that December won't resolve it.

At present the situation is that there is no schedule and there can't be a schedule, see: de0u, de0u, wizoatk, and many other posts indicating that for the moment the only thing to do is wait until an announcement from the GrapheneOS project is made.

If people wish, they can wait for other things that have predictable dates, but nothing that has a predictable date will for-sure resolve the Pixel 11 situation.

I think a downside to the Pixel 11, especially for anyone buying it mainly for GrapheneOS. If MTE is not available, then i would stick to the Pixel 10 instead.
