Do emergency calls work if Microphone access blocked?

I don't want to test with an actual emergency call. But the purpose would be to allow emergency calls on a locked phone.
If microphone access is blocked, and unlocking is required to unblock the microphone, can emergency calls work without unlocking?

Graphite Yes, when I had to make an emergency call as soon I called 911 I got a notification saying that it would turn on a couple features during the call. The mic, my location and caller ID were what it turned on if I remember correctly.

@Conjure6589 Did you observe the features being blocked again automatically after the call or did you have to do that manually? Sounds like a way for an unauthenticated 3rd party to control the device to some degree, if the latter.
