NathanBeltran @GrapheneOS, I've set Privacy > Show Passwords off but characters are still shown when I type, why?
GrapheneOS NathanBeltran If you're talking about specific apps, it's entirely up to them if they want to read the global setting value and respect it.
[deleted] NathanBeltran do you mean key pop-ups or actual characters appearing in input field as you type? Key pop-ups can be turned off.
Phead I think you must be a little more specific. I just tested login forms in Firefox and vanadium and both password fields worked as expected - no characters visible. Does this occur in a specific app?
treequell [deleted] I cant reproduce this. When I type the password to unlock the phone the characters are asterisked out as I type it. If you don't want key pop-up on the keyboard disable it, as suggested by [deleted] .
NathanBeltran [deleted] i mean key pop-ups and I have turned off but they still show for passwords typed, the same as typing this here with grapheneOS' keyboard.
Hat Yes disabling the keyboard popup on keypress, the key is still Highlighted. The same appear unlocking the phone. It's easy to press the wrong key in a virtual keyboard this is to help the user. The unlocking screen have bigger keys it's less needed in that case. To add security on unlock you might be interested in this feature.
NathanBeltran Thank you for the reply and help. What i was looking for was in the Keyboard settings where i can choose to not show characters as well as whether the first letter will be capitalized etc.
