Feedback on GrapheneOS standalone apps

It would be cool if the button highlights in the Camera app were a white/grey color, opposed to the blue.

It would look more consistent with the darker theme of Graphene.

ryan97 There's currently an open feature request to replace the hardcoded dark blue with themeable buttons (Material You) and generally modern Material themeing. We want our apps to be using Material and Material You where possible.

[deleted] I definitely feel like the PDF Viewer and Auditor apps specifically could benefit from a UI and theming overhaul. "Apps" and Camera are beautiful, so the other two look outdated in comparison, sadly.

matchboxbananasynergy PDF Viewer and Auditor were made very early on, way before the GrapheneOS branding. Apps and Camera were made modern and with a set style from the beginning. PDF Viewer and Auditor are in dire need of a lot of UX/UI fixes, improvements, features, etc compared to Apps and Camera.

If people are looking to contribute to GrapheneOS, our apps are the best place to start.

Regarding the 'apps ' app. I accidentally installed google play services. Please consider having a confirmation dialog before apps are installed. This may already be the case now but i don't want to click it again. I was able to uninstall immediately so all is well. Thanks for all your work on GrapheneOs

jperkins Thankfully they don't 'initialise' until you tap the sign in button allowing you to uninstall. Admittedly a little warning dialogue would assist, but the trust on first use model helps remove any mistakenly installed apps so long as they aren't opened and run.

jperkins Apps don't really run right after installation. So it is still safe. You can cancel app installation in the future once someone implements https://github.com/GrapheneOS/Apps/issues/147 and this too here for those who really don't need Play services and would rather have it out of their way https://github.com/GrapheneOS/Apps/issues/124

A TL;Dr:

Center PDFs automatically (Either vertical or horizontal. Pics are on Github of what I mean exactly)
Zoom to fit PDF when opening PDFs/snap all PDF borders to screen border when applicable.

fragolone We don't support Android versions that old. The minimum PDF Viewer runs on is Android 8.

Feature suggestion for the Camera app: it would be nice to be able to set FPS on lower resolutions for video recording (fe. 1080p/60fps).
