How to see which user profiles are active

Hi,

I have quite a few user profiles, like 15, and I often lose track of which 3 are currently active. Especially in case I want to shut them (or one) down.

Is there somehow a way from the user currently connected to, to identify which are the other 2 user profiles that are running in the background ? (I have not found a way)

When we have 3 user profiles running, and that we switched to a fourth. What is the action applied to the profile that becomes inactive, is it the same as "End session" ?

Not currently.

Somebody did open a feature request for an indicator within the Select User menu to show which user profiles are currently active.

Mob The first profile open should be closed when the forth is open.
You could check this with four accounts and fingerprints allowed in each.
If after opening the forth profile the first account ask you to type your password instead to use fingerprint, that profile it's at rest.

Try this several times to be sure there is nothing random behind this log out process.

I'm not sure exactly what happens to the session that becomes inactive. Whether it is fully at rest or if there is another state. Somebody else would need to confirm this.

I've also no idea how it decides which session to put at rest.

There is a hack to do this: in owner, System > Developer options > Running services. Swipe till the end to see running profiles. Although using or changing developer options is generally frown upon, so don't touch anything there.

When a 4th profile opens, one of the existing profile (that is not the owner) gets killed.

lemonadehabitat For me this doesn't seem to work properly. It only shows me the activites of the last profile I visited.

I feel like this behavior is kind of a privacy feature. Depending on your threat model, it might be important to hide other active profiles from anybody who might get hold of your device (even though I cannot come up with a specific situation).

On the other hand, this might be slightly too much tin foil hat thinking, so maybe a switch in the options would make sense for those who prefer to hide such indicator.
