After this release is installed, my banking apps and other apps fail to open and reports as rooting is detected.
I tried multiple combinations of settings by disabling/enabling exploit compatibility and secure app spawning disabled, none seems to work. Although few other apps were successful with this secure app spawn disabled. But ICICI's imobile app still fails to open up. The app was updated last month and I believe this release has something to do with it.
Please help or provide any alternative solutions?

gowthamcb We need clear information on which apps don't work, info on your setup including whether you have sandboxed Google Play properly installed (both Play Store and Play services with Network access), whether the Play Integrity API notice is shown by the OS and what you've tried to work around it including the per-app exploit protection compatibility mode.

irctc Railone didn't work post this release update, however by disabling secure app spawn it worked. But ICICI's imobile banking(v30.5) app didn't work. I have pixel 6a running latest grapheneos release. The app uses play integrity api, I haven't blocked for usage access as well. It was working well until I rebooted to install latest release today. I have installed Google play store and google play services with network permissions.
I tried uninstalling the app and installing again from play store. Disabled exploit compatible mode and disabled secure app spawn and rebooted. Still the app reports device is rooted.

Thanks! The insurance APP CosmosDirekt finally worked with this release. Previously it was always complaining that I am using a VPN (even if I am not) and refused to Login. or let me use it as 2FA for web login.

Chase banking app com.chase.intl Version 2.83.0 I last updated this app on 11th July, I'm on GrapheneOS build 2026071101 and don't have google play or play services installed.
After updating the OS the app no longer works, have tried disabling Secure app spawning which then fails on Hardened memory allocator, if I disable this the app auto closes after I've input my thumb security. If I leave both of these enabled the app opens but displays a message 'Sorry you can't use Chase on this device, This is because your device doesn't meet our security standards'.
Same message is displayed if I enable Exploit protection compatibility mode.

Would application logs be useful?

Can confirm previously working play integrity using Authenticator app now presents message stating phone is rooted with this release. Secure spawning disabled, exploit compatibility mode on.

locked_out The app launches fine for us with exploit protection compatibility mode enabled. You need to give a clearer report of what goes wrong and when it goes wrong.

GrapheneOS so it launches fine, but does an integrity check when actually generating a code which seems to be causing warning of a rooted phone. I get a notification that shows an integrity check and the app warns of rooted status. Google store and play services have their network permissions and the app itself is on a version from April so nothing should have changed on the App's end in terms of integrity checks. It worked circa 8 hours ago on the same app version. I also tried clearing the cache but to no avail

locked_out Please reboot the device, launch the app, trigger the failure in it and then obtain full system logs via Settings > System > View logs which should be submitted to logs@grapheneos.org via email.

There is another post titled chase bank app not working after most recent update.
For some, disabling secure app spawning fixes it. (It's a per app toggle now)

Several users are reporting that a vpn fixes the "rooted" message. @GrapheneOS

slates good find, I get the same result with NordVPN/Chile/Argentina, Chase UK app works.

Johnnyloans for me even with vpn use the banking apps report device is rooted. @GrapheneOS please resolve this. I have shared logs to the mail Id logs@grapheneos.org

GrapheneOS-Jub Bank app issue is solved and all are in order.
Disabled Secure App Spawning, all other settings are enabled.
This is better more securre than the previous option of enabling Exploit Protection compat.

The factory reset alert will trigger if Secure App Spawning is enabled.
If both Secure App Spawning and Memory Tagging are enabled, the alert will be a Jailbreak/Rooted alert.

anag (nagios Android app) stopped working, complaining it cannot resolve hostname. the app worked on previous android 17 releases, it had "nearby devices" permissions assigned during migration and network permissions as per pre android 17 update but it behaves like there is no connectivity. the endpoint is on the local network (VPN actually, and on a 10.0.0.0/8 IP).
The web version of nagios is reachable from my phone, it's just this app who can't see it anymore.
Did anything network related change which might be the culprit?
