AIB mobile banking app - "Your device isn't compatible with this version"

I unfortunately knee jerked and uninstalled and tried to re-install and I'm just unable to get it to be viewable on the GPS. I can only get through Aurora and it just force closes and doesn't work anymore for me. :/

Set it to assign as Install source: com.android.vending

Install the AIB app in Aurora, but when the question shows about Installer app, select Universal Installer.
It might now be possible to reinstall AIB from Sandboxed Google Play.

I configured it and setup my Virus total API key, went to APK mirror.
Installed the latest AIB app,
Disabled Secure App Spawning
Disabled Hardened Memory Allocator

I get

Authentication failed. This setup was not successful. This could be due to a technical issue. Please try again later.

Don't go to APKmirror, use the Universal Installer combined with Aurorastore to get an install that Sandboxed Google Play will accept for reinstallation.

Hi. Just wanted to add to this discussion, in case it helped anyone.

This AIB app is currently working for me on my Pixel 7a with the latest GrapheneOS build 2026090701.

I'm running Sandboxed Google Play in the owner profile. I had to download the app from Aurora store, as it won't show up in the Play Store.

Once downloaded, in the app setting, I've disabled "Secure app spawning". And under "Advanced" I've set "Play Integrity API" to blocked. This setup allows me to use the app fully. I get warnings when the app uses the integrity API, but the app still works. This setup also allowed me to get another banking (credit Union) app to work, that had previously not worked.

AIB app details are aib.ibank.android, version 26.8.45.

The fact that I'm blocking the integrity API feels a bit like I'm on a knife-edge, and it could fail with any update. But, for now, it's working.

Setup an account just to say this worked for me too, thank you!

I don't know how to do advanced settings so instead I opened the app tried to sign up, once I got the notification that the app used the play servicea api I clicked 'more info' and then blocked the app from there.

Thank you for this, I will still not be using AIB as my main bank anymore after their AIB slop responses and lack of care for Security Conscious and Privacy Conscious users.

lpother after first launch, re-enabling "Secure app spawning" is safe and won't break it.

lpother I can confirm this worked for me as well on Pixel 9 with latest GOS update and through Aurorastore on main primary profile WITHOUT Google Play services. Thank you!

Yeah this is why I closed all my accounts with them.

I shouldn't have to find workarounds to obtain my salary. Their support is a joke and complaints officers just regurgitate what co pilot spits out for them.

Novaliss I had this issue with Brave before. It's worth trying Vanadium and ensuring its not routing to incognito
