Now I tested it also with mullvad turned off and the problem still exists.

Sometimes when clicking on the phone icon next to last call, the phone only reloads the last calls screen and it can take up to three screen reloads before the phone begins to make a call or shows the message "Airplane mode has to be turned Off to make a call" or "All lines are in use, close a line to make a call".

But when calling works, it works till I switch GOS userprofile and the problem begins again. So it seems to lay in the reconnecting WiFi after GOS user switch on my pixel9.

Have you recently travelled to a new city or country?

After resetting mobile, you probably have to be on a cell connection at least for a little bit to have your phone figure out WiFi calling for your carrier.

Today I contacted my cell phone provider, Odido. They said they’ve been experiencing serious problems for three weeks now, which they thought had been resolved on June 24. Currently, there are still random customers who cannot connect or lose their carrier connection, making it impossible to make or receive calls. Due to the latest changes implemented by Odido, I have to keep setting 2G enabled, and with every GOS user switch I must make a call over 5G once to establish a connection with Odido.

Once the connection is established, I can turn on airplane mode and make calls over Wi-Fi while in airplane mode, until the phone has been in standby for too long. After standby, I first have to make a call and reconnect via 5G again.

Odido hopes to resolve this by Sunday, but it may take longer.

So, this is partly related to Android 17 (maybe this GOS version) and my carrier problems, since every GOS user switch creates their own new internet/Wi-Fi connection, which also resets the carrier connection and in my case loses the carrier connection through WiFi in airplane mode.

ClickClickDrone That's incorrect since we implemented exec-based spawning for the native Zygote as part of supporting it and Vanadium also doesn't use the native Zygote yet.

keycap_puller Exec-based spawning is now implemented for both the regular Android Runtime (Java/Kotlin) Zygote and the native Zygote. In the near future we can switch to using the native Zygote for Vanadium renderer processes to save memory by not having the Android Runtime in the renderer processes.
