Settings > System > System Updates > Check for Updates your phone should update then if it hasn't automatically checked for updates yet

I have a question regarding app autostarts. After an update the app optimization process starts, ending with a prompt to restart the optimised apps. After this restart I watched the background start behaviour of my always running apps, normally 11. K-9, Simplex, Signal (all websocket) were starting successfully, Threema-Libre didn't. In total only 8 of 11 apps started.
I rebooted the system again, again only 8 of 11 apps were started, but this time Threema-Libre started successfully, Signal didn't.
How does it all fit together?

It sometimes takes a little longer. Check if they all run after ~ 10 min.

Already did this, also after longer periods than 10 minutes. Just recognised that the battery optimization for Signal (Tw-Hx) was turned on again, this must have happened during the last app optimization process and thus would explain why Signal started successfully after the last update, but before app optimization and no more afterwards.

Graph10 I was thinking they could probably get a ton of donations (idk for sure a ton obviously speculating) by adding occasional popups like Signal or Wikipedia does (Wikipedia less good of an example because they are rather obtrusive). Personally I would respect adding a reminder perhaps on app update or restart, but I can understand wanting to give people as clean as possible an experience by not adding donation reminders.

This has been suggested before, and so far the project has pretty firmly indicated that this is not planned.

Hi everyone. Just got the OTA and my phone pixel 7 is now stuck rebooting. It started once, i put the password in and it turned off and starting rebooting continuously. I got into rescue mode but it does't accept the update from releases with this error
ERROR: recovery: Update package is older than the current build, expected a build newer than timestamp 1781642242, but package has timestamp 1781642241 and downgrade not allowed.

What do i do? I had "stable" chosen for update and even though I've tried to install both stable and beta it won't accapt any of the updates. Also tried installing "stallion" and it didn't help

It sounds like you entered a duress PIN or password. Did you have the feature enabled?

Forgot to mention that after rebooting it prompts me to either remove all data and reinstall or try again

fid03 thanks a lot but even though it updated successfully it still won't start properly. I get the message "Cannot load Android system. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need to perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device"
Below it shows "Try again" and "Factory data reset"
What do I do now? Is there any way to restore the phone without erasing all the data? I don't have any backups

Unfortunately, probably not. The system is designed to protect user data against being extracted, which means that it's designed so that accessing user data requires the operating system to be working.
