It may take a while for android 17 to get from experimental to stable. Most people will wait for stable.

@noodle_panda GrapheneOS is already ported to Android 17 and we have initial builds for it but a regression was found which needs to be fixed before it goes to Alpha. Android 17 has only been released for a bit over a day and it's very premature to start complaining about how long it's taking to reach our public release channels. It doesn't make sense to backport changes to Android 16 QPR2 which would take longer than releasing Android 17 while also significantly delaying releasing Android 17. Backporting firmware and drivers is not clean and causes a lot of issues. It was only done reluctantly for QPR1 and QPR3 due to lack of alternatives. It was only done for the Android 16 release due to Pixel support being dropped from AOSP and not having had early access to get the port done in advance. It's not a good approach and the special case of having to handle QPR1 and QPR3 that way for Pixels is something we want to avoid by convincing them to push those to AOSP again.

I am stuck on 0% progress at the "finalizing system update" stage. Any ideas? Never encountered this issue on an OTA before.

nkm GrapheneOS recompiles user installed apps with speed-profile (only parts marked heavily used in baseline/cloud profiles) as part of Finalizing. You likely have more user installed apps than you did before. After reboot, it recompiles user installed apps with speed (near full compilation) in the background which is the progress bar notification that's shown.
