Works fine here for days @ Pixel 10 Pro XL, battery life is ongoing excellent.

andrej567 That's not due to the OS update. It's due to your apps and setup. That's also not how the percentages work, both sections separately add up to 100%.

I did factory reset, it was all fine until I installed google play services. Google likes me.

That sounds more like a DNS or Fritzbox problem. Fritzboxes tend to drop out single devices, while all other connected devices are working fine, often the affected device is successfully connected to WiFi, but marked with an exclamation mark at the network symbol and "No internet" in the network details.
For me often the "Reconnect" option in the Fritzbox's settings was helping out, not necessarily a reboot. Also fixed IP adresses for every device inside your home network are helpful to avoid this problem for the future. Inside your secure home network you should also use the "device mac-adress" and the IP of your router as DNS in the devices specific WLAN connection settings.

Unrelated to the update but since a couple days ago brightness on Pixel 8 (shiba) has been inconsistent.

I checked for power saving, HDR, adaptive brightness but none of those are flagged. Sometimes, I am not even under direct sunlight (so peak brightness is not triggered) and brightness would drop like 15% when near maximum. After a while it goes back to normal.

Johnnyloans you are totally right, sorry for my bad description of what has hapoened.

Since the version release 2026060100 the signal icon that shows the app is running on the background has disappeared. I have the background notifications active, I have restarted the signal app and my Pixel 9. I have cleared cache and still the is no icon showing that the signal app is running on the background even though it is. I Hope this is a better description and helps Identify the problem. The latest GoS version I am running is 2026061601.

Oh, I see. No worries.
I do this use signal. I just downloaded it. It doesn't show the "background connection" for me despite having unrestricted background usage.

I'd check these 2 things:

hold your finger down on the signal icon for 3 seconds > app info > notifications > tap on unused categories > expand the 2 categories > make sure background connection has a check mark
View your notifications (drag down from the top twice) > at the very bottom it either has:
a number then background apps active (for example: 3 background apps active)
a number inside of a circle

Tap on that to view what's running. See if signal is in the list. For me, signal is never in the list of running apps.
