which icon? (E.g. cell signal, wifi, etc )
What did the icon look like before and now?
Is functionality affected? (e.g. cell signal icon shows an exclamation mark but I still can call, text, and use cell data just fine. )
did you see any errors related to this? What did they say exactly?

Johnnyloans you are totally right, sorry for my bad description of what has hapoened.

Since the version release 2026060100 the signal icon that shows the app is running on the background has disappeared. I have the background notifications active, I have restarted the signal app and my Pixel 9. I have cleared cache and still the is no icon showing that the signal app is running on the background even though it is. I Hope this is a better description and helps Identify the problem. The latest GoS version I am running is 2026061601.

Update was seamless on my Pixel 8 Pro, but now my Android Auto doesn't work over wireless. I can use Auto when using a USB cable, but when connected to my car via Bluetooth, Android Auto isn't even an option.

Many people using airguard, life360, and fitness apps do not want the location indicator and it showing even more now makes the problem worse.

This change was to show the location indicator when approximate location was used in apps.

If your life360, airguard, fitness app uses precise location then this change doesn't affect anything.

An app is either set to precise or approximate.

andrej567 That's not due to the OS update. It's due to your apps and setup. That's also not how the percentages work, both sections separately add up to 100%.

8a is having some strange WiFi issues after this update.

It is connected to a Fritzbox, latest FritzOS, and some websites won't load while others do load just fine. Example website that doesn't load would be reddit.com, but alsp this forum. Ones that do load include google.com, bored.com, hostinger.com...
Error code when it fails: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

VPN is deactivated.

Trying the failing websites via the phone's mobile network after disabling wifi will work.

A PC connected to the same Fritzbox via lan does also successfully open the websites the phone doesn't as long as its connected to the router wifi.

So, only when trying to load these pages via the router WiFi connection, it won't work when it did yesterday.

I already tried rebooting router and phone, deleting the WiFi connection and creating it again and also resetting the MyFritz app. Didn't change anything, except that I'm now unable to connect the app to the router despite having successfully connected to its WiFi (and being able to load some websites).

That sounds more like a DNS or Fritzbox problem. Fritzboxes tend to drop out single devices, while all other connected devices are working fine, often the affected device is successfully connected to WiFi, but marked with an exclamation mark at the network symbol and "No internet" in the network details.
For me often the "Reconnect" option in the Fritzbox's settings was helping out, not necessarily a reboot. Also fixed IP adresses for every device inside your home network are helpful to avoid this problem for the future. Inside your secure home network you should also use the "device mac-adress" and the IP of your router as DNS in the devices specific WLAN connection settings.
