unable to view AVIF files on the default image viewer or a third party viewer

I recently noticed that some image formats (like AVIF) are hard to view on GrapheneOS and I have to use a third party image viewer on Chrome because that's what really only works and its very inconvenient (I forgot the name of the Chrome on GrapheneOS) I have even tried third party image viewers but it keeps getting stuck at a loading screen or something.

thatonejournal I'm unable to reproduce it on normal AVIF files. Could you please send sample images you having issues with?
Could you also try the latest release of https://github.com/IacobIonut01/ReFra? The new GrapheneOS Gallery app (not released yet) will be based on it.

Kamika242 Yeah I just did but they're both very unstable with AVIF or JP2 (I dont really use JP2 I was just testing the file format)

Hmm, I thought especially AVES can handle .avif (and others), as they in particular promote it.

int_32 sorry for the late response I was a bit busy but I actually decided to kinda do my own "research" so it turns out that some larger AVIF files can turn out to be completely unviewable while smaller files can work but with mixed quality depending on the image viewer (for example ReFra works great with smaller AVIF files but the default image viewer can suck) I will provide some attachments soon
