This release has been cancelled for the Pixel 8a due to a Wi-Fi issue.

The release has also been cancelled for the Pixel 9a due to a similar issue. It appears to be fine for other devices and will likely move to the Beta channel for everything other than the Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a due to the banking app compatibility fix. We'll need to do a new release fixing the Wi-Fi regression.

e-double You appear to be using 2026050400 rather than 2026050600. We know about the banking app compatibility issues with 2026050400 and it was fixed in this release.

First and foremost; I always use the bank's identifyer hardware in combination with their website rather than using their app, so I haven't tested any banking app issues.

Furthermore, I have not experienced any WiFi-issues so far, also not on the previous release.

Finally, I don't use Google Play Services, it goes untested on my devices as well.

To get to the meat and potatoes; 2026050601 is working without issues for me on my P6a, P7, Pixel Tablet and P9Pxl.

Short question: Nearly all announcements about new versions here are about beta releases, how safely is it to use beta versions of GrapheneOS?

Kamika242 Every release reaching Stable made it through both the Alpha and Beta channels. Releases never go directly to either the Stable or Beta channels. The most recent 2 releases didn't make it to Stable which is rare. The vast majority of releases do make it to Stable. It's highly unusual that 2 releases in a row didn't make it without it being a major Android update where there can easily be 4 or more releases not making it to Stable due to how much needs to be fixed.

Kamika242 The way I understand it is that Alpha is tested by a small group of testers that signed up for it. Not every one of them runs every app and function you or I do so some incompatibilities can slip through. Once it reaches beta more people opt-in to test the builds and small incompatibilities can be uncovered because the usage is more diverse since there are more people testing beta builds. The main risk is that (AFAIK) you can't roll back so if it impacts a banking app or something important to you you will have to wait until the next release. However, if it impacts something big a build that repairs it is usually released rather quickly.
In my opinion it is safe but it entirely depends upon if you can deal with it if a policy is made too strict or changed and some app or function temporarily breaks

Just ccheck the table related to your device. For every supported device 2026042100 and 2026042101 are still the stable versions until now.

The most recent 2 releases are 2026050400/1 and 2026050600/1. 2026050400/1 will never reach stable and maybe even 2026050600/1 will not, at least for models 8a and 9a it won't. There might be another bugfix-release soon.

That's the point, Revolut and Curve are very important to me and they should work always. So I better stay on stable releases, although beta releases in general have my interest.

You'd have the latest release 1-2 days early being on beta instead of stable.

The previous update created issues with some people's wifi working and banking apps.

Just ccheck the table related to your device. For every supported device 2026042100 and 2026042101 are still the stable versions until now.

I just added the releases page as a webapp on my homescreen. Go to the releases page in Vanadium, scroll to your device (eg Pixel 9a) and click on the device name. It won't really do anything on the screen but now add it as a web app and it'll open specifically to your device if you tapped on it before adding.
