Well, the problem is not 5G itself, we need to look at it with a little bit of nuance.
The most common way of implementing 5G today is 5G NSA (Non Stand Alone). That means that your phone has an active connection with both 4G and 5G. The phone uses 5G for data, and keeps an active connection with 4G, because if you make or receive a call, the phone uses 4G for that.
Phone operators have started rolling out 5G SA (Stand Alone) in some areas. With 5G SA, you phone can use both data and calling with 5G, and therefore only need one active connection. This will decrease power usage on your phone.
