Does anyone have any opinion about what might be a wiser purchase right now? Used pixel 6 approx 200 usd, or new 6a approx 300 usd?

If I do a specs comparison, the Pixel 6 is better in pretty much every respect. I would buy the Pixel 6, even if it cost as much or more. The 6/6 Pro are a steal on the used market right now for the life they have left. Definitely the sweet spot (I wouldn't even consider a 7 series given that they're double the price or more, or a 5... Or a 6a, given that they offer much less for little or no discount).

I live in the Sonoran Desert and the 6A screen just wasn't bright enough when driving with sun glasses on. I upgraded to 7 with it's essentially Samsung level of brightness (about 20% brighter than 6). Perhaps a weird use case something to consider. The 6/7 wireless charging is also a nice to have.

The brightness is not something I could have figured out from "specs", nor is it more than cursorily mentioned in reviews.

On the + side for the 6A, I did prefer the slightly smaller size.

In either case, I LOVE the Caseology Athlex case for grippiness and screen lip protection for either phone.

I would go with the used 6 myself, but VERIFY that it's Boot Loader Unlockable or you can learn it the hard way like I did.

I went with a refurbished Pixel 6 because I could get the 256GB model for about the same price as a new 6a, and 256GB is not an option on the 6a. Just loaded grapheneos on it, and it's great.

I've had all 6 of the newest Pixels and the 6a is my favorite, just recently switched from the 7 to the 6a. I bought the 7 to upgrade from the 6a, and I was pretty disappointed. Slight camera improvement and a slight bump in sceen brightness, that's about it. The 6a camera is extremely impressive for what it is. The 6a is the perfect size in my opinion, the pro models are huge and the standard is just slightly bigger than the A. I'm probably getting the 7a when it's released in March but if someone told me I had to keep this phone for the next year or more, I wouldn't be mad about it at al. 6a gets a little warm under heacy use but for the price, you can't beat it. Give it 3-5 years, people are gonna be talking about the 6a like they did with the 4a and S9.

I use both 6 and 6a - the 6a is every bit the powerhouse phone that the 6 is, and I think its size is perfect.

Sorry if this is too intrusive a question Spiral, so dont feel obliged to answer! I was wondering about the benefits of having both? I have a Pixel 6 which i love but was thinking of also getting a 6a because of it being more compact and easier to carry around etc. Just trying to work out really if i would have a use for both. Any advice appreciated.

      Hi!

I first bought and used the 6a, and I loved it. After about six months of its use I started to wonder if I would enjoy using a bigger phone. I found a 6 on eBay for a steal of a price, so I pulled the trigger.

Now, I've been using the 6 for about two months but an about to switch back to the 6a. Why? I prefer its size. Also somehow, I enjoy the "feel" of the 6a better - it seems snappier then the 6.

Having two devices isn't necessary but it comes in handy sometimes, and at the price point of these pixels (especially relative to iPhones) I just figured, why not?

Pixel 6 all the way. I started loving to hold his huge brick in public and people looking at my phone like wtf did I see? slow process but now I am addicted to holding Pixel 6 without AOD. Full sleek black.
