But that's contrary to freedom, you're locking yourself out, while still allowing apple, google to know the number is yours because one day you have contacted your new friend and they have saved you under your name, and then have placed an online order for a pizza and the courier has saved your number with your address. Don't mix anonymity with "not being aware of".

I'm free if I can use what I want without creating a clear link to "real me". And one needs tools for that (XMR for anonymous payments, account markets for accounts). Without them, it's not possible (unless you abandon digital world as a whole)

Quick update regarding this. I was able to bypass the phone requirement over Orbot/Tor. I set exit node to auto (worldwide) and used Snowflake and Obs4 connections instead of direct. Even so, I still had to try a few circuits to find success. One account I created via Snowflake and the other I created via Obs4. I believe I was exiting from Germany for the account created via Snowflake. Not sure about the second. I encountered strange behavior when blocked during the signup process other than the forced phone verify. One example is all birthdays entered were “not old enough” to create accounts. If consistently blocked, I’d sometimes wait a few hours and try again. Point is, it does work. It just requires some time and perseverance. Obviously, once in the accounts, I disabled all privacy invasive settings and setup 2FA via an authenticator app. Afterwards, you should be able to switch back to direct Tor connections without issue.
