What's your average overnight battery drain? for Pixel 9/10 series.

I wonder if my battery is defective (6 month old P9). I get about 5-7% drain overnight (8-9 hrs). No apps open in background. It has been this way since brand new.

For comparison, my oneplus 13 has nearly identical setup but only gets 0-2% drain during the same period of time.

No, it is a different device. Different ways to make the devices monitor their respective chemical hardware. Oneplus13 has a substantially larger battery as well.

can you try this -> turn on airplane mode note the currently battery percentage before you to go to sleep and after 8 - 9 hrs check this again in the morning if its only 0 - 2% drain then the issue is related to mobile network.

I will also try this experiment and update you with info tomorrow.

Check battery usage for the day or certain 1 hour periods.

settings > battery > battery usage
Change view by apps to view system as well.

The percentages in these 2 menus are not comparable. It's a percentage of how much apps or system used in total which will be different (e.g. apps used 1% and system used 8%. 50% of each is a different value)

I'd expect my--old--phone to lose at least this much with 0-2 bars of cell strength overnight.

My 9a drains about 5% in 8 hours overnight

pizzadequeso Same numbers here with Pixel 6a. I do not turn on the flight mode, just in case of emergency.

My previous old Samsung S10 was on LineageOS and it was about 2-3% per night. But honestly I do not care.

My 6a battery is down 3-4% per night (7-8h) in full Airplane mode on (no BT, no WiFi).
I consider this normal for Pixel family.

I did the experiment last night using my old Pixel, which still has GrapheneOS (GOS) support.

Currently 500+ charge cycles, I forgot to check the battery drain at the usual 8–9 hours and only checked after 13+ hours. The battery had drained 9%. Given that the battery is over four years old, this is pretty much expected the condition is naturally poor.

However, your six-month-old Pixel 9 draining 5–7% overnight seems higher compared to my four-year-old Pixel.
