Well, I will try to help in parts because i have suffered many attacks inside whatsapp but they don´t has anything with graphene. I will try to correlate your issue with mine and say what I've to circumvent the issue (if i could).
Google Pixel 6a running 2026030700. So last night I'm listening to some music with my Onix Alpha DAC and their hi-res music player called "Eddict Player", made by Shangling. Installed from Aurora store. I'm carrying on a Signal Messaging chat with a friend, who asks me if I hear strange tones from the phone. Nope-wait let me lower my music volume- yes. They were low frequency beeps, reminiscent of Morse Code. This carried on even when I put the phone into Airplane mode, and had quit the Eddict Player app. Phone was connected to Wi-Fi. Friend was on her Mobile Data plan. Friend is not the pranking type, so I believe her when she says she's not messing with me by playing the beeps.
->>>> Well, first of all I avoid installing anything from Aurora even thinking they don't pose any security issue on their apps. I only install from Aurora apps that are free and in a separated profile.
Signal, Whatsapp and Telegram are well known to have a lot of 0day, 0clicks exploits becase a lot of reasons i will not repeat here. So, yes, you may be at risk of leaking messages usings those platforms. My recomendation is, don't use it if you don't need it and try to not message sensitive content over those platforms. Those beeps could be something codec related? Yes... maybe... but could be some sort of recording also. I don't know if Signal have this functionality but if it has, yes, maybe... I saw attacks where depending on your system and OS they can up like a mirror of your app and see everything that you send messages... Never saw it in grapeheneos with newer pixels (sorry i don´t know about pixel 6 capabilities to stop attacks like pixel 8 and newer ones...) You should consider some driver bugs of the functioning of this onix dac under strict policies like Hmalloc and Selinux becase is possible that those protection reduce processing or deny some processing from apps and hardwares like this one. About wifi, i really do not connect to wifi at all so, I cannot speak for it. Wifi has a so flawed design that just loose the battle for BT... So... this is not a thing i could tell you. But you should test with other connections and also check you wifi router, QOS, etc. Those beeps are intriguing also... are they constant? Maybe a connection issue could make an app change its codec to deliver the talk without interruptions...
Additionally, both the Eddict Player and Pulsar media player apps will pause content randomly when sent to the background. They'll play fine for a few minutes, then I get silence, go back into the app, and have to hit Play again.
->>>>> Well this is most software design... get youtube without premium and put it on the backgroud... it will mute... maybe the phone is entering in rest mode and is cutting you song... you can check this because if is this what im saying it will stop near or always on the same minute/second of the track everytime... if you try to reproduce it, make all the reproduction with fidelity to confirm is rest mode.
Onto Signal Messager app. About a year ago, I was having a group chat with my parents (just the 3 of us as members of the group). Mom was at work and her phone stowed away in a locker, Dad was just hanging around the house. I ask Dad a question, and he answers, but it appears like the message has come from Mom. Dad pauses, and writes to confirm he indeed sent me the message, and later after her work shift, Mom backs him up on this. Signal message came from the wrong sender. Additionally, while using the app, there's this fading in/out scroll handle bar that will appear/disappear without any interaction with the phone screen. As in, I can place the phone on a table, read a chat without scrolling up/down, and yet the scroll handle bar will show, and then fade out, while the phone is untouched. Now, were it just showing while/just after scrolling, I could let it go- but this behaviour is strange, and going on for about a year now. Feels like I'm being watched.
As I said, i had seen such things in whatsapp... not in grapene but in iphone... and is very easy if you had other phones before and a hacker stole your keys.... they may be using them.... i suggest you unregister all the phones and register again. But be aware... if you have loose ends like your parents phone, it will still happen... a hacker can easlity exfiltrate data from other phone than graphene and get other keys from other users whatsapp or signal and still spy on you.
Kernel Crash- Last week I had WhatsApp Kernel Crash while launching the camera from within the app. I'm going through the bugreport, trying to sanitize it before I upload here. Any help on a quicker way than doing a Ctrl/Find & Replace from Libreoffice Writer would be greatly appreciated (sed command via Linux, or is there some FOSS tool I'm not aware of?)
Try to post the crash on the log system here... I see kernel crashes in whatsapp constantly and mainly when the app is open... whatsapp has a lot of initialization tasks and generally they fail in very low memory addresses which clearly indicates some null pointer dereference... and they happen almost all the time... null pointer dereference... just once i saw a MTE got by system that wasnt a null pointer... how my whatsapp was hacked million times, the hacker was trying to send me a file with bad content to be parsed thinking i was using another system, so the payload failed but the app was closed by mte. Just once in 2 years.
Battery life also went into a nosedive when all this started happening. From F-Droid store, I installed "AnotherMonitor", hoping to get a list of running processes like from a top/htop command in Linux. Nope, only shows itself, but my MemFree is 2.0%. Installed "Terminal Emulator" from F-Droid and tried commands there- Permission Denied. I'm under the Owner profile. Can't even run 'ls'. 'Pwd' works, can 'cd' around but not much else possible.
->>>> can't help you with that... never had problems with battery life on P9XL and 2 P10 fold using graphene... never. And... sorry I never use f-droid... since they sign their packages i cannot trust on them.
WiFi disconnects frequently, have to wait on VPN to reestablish.
Maybe the vpn is disconecting? Or your wi-fi is out of range? There is an option on GOS that disconnects your wifi if idle (also bluetooth). For example mine is 15 second of idle it will disconnect the wifi... this is on settings...
WhatsApp- installed from Aurora. I don't get Notifications unless I manually open the app, and by then they could be hours stale, and people are pissy about this, as am I. Fingerprint unlock is inconsistent, even after having enrolled an additional fingerprint. Then when it unlocks, it immediately goes to the background like I swiped out of the app, and I'm greeted with my all my app launchers shown. Tap on WhatsApp and it comes to the foreground now unlocked.
That happens all the time.... So i stopped using fingerprinting recognition for those this... maybe you set up your finger in some manner that gets hard to use the same position. That happened to me... for my security i have disabled all fingerpint unlock to comply with my treat model. I get all notifications from whatsapp... have you enabled it on notifications inside the settings? I get more notification from whatsapp than from all other piece of software i have... never had any problem. Maybe config issue.
My main concern here is that I'm being MITM'd and I don't know how to dispell such thoughts.
You may be with a mitm behind you... but... outside the universe of messengers nothing you said concerns me.... now, for wapp, telegram and signal i dont doubt but your arguments cannot confirm that you have this issue.. and maybe you will never know about the mitm for sure... only by assumptions.... the best to do is reinforce all phones you need contact and yours... reregister. If you have loose ends... you are insecure at all and there is nothing you can do...
