I am not sure how it works, but using a different account with a different number, that had previously contacts shared from contact list, but now on GrapheneOS not anymore, just contact scopes with 0 contacts, it still put Molly in that Android setting.
On a fresh number, with no contacts ever synced, it didnt.
So I guess one would have to use "delete Account" on the Molly account, then reinstall, then never sharing contacts, and then it might not pop up anymore.
But I think the sync function is harmless. GrapheneOS doesn't use Google to sync stuff. Signal uses Google server infrastructure, but that is expected of a centralized service that is free to use.
