Help. What is going on here with my hotspot.

AngWay it's just a shot in the dark, but it also might just be Verizon shenanigans. If possible, see if a relative would lend their SIM card, preferably from a different provider. Might be the combination of:
Verizon - GOS
Verizon - Google Pixel
Provisioning profile being broken on Pixels.

As far as I am aware, cellular providers can actively throttle hotspot traffic (since it's visible as hotspot traffic to them). Maybe that wasn't the case on the Samsung, for some reason. I would at least test with a different SIM before taking other, more invasive measures.

n3t_admin ok I have been messing around with it on windows 11 and I can't get the USB tethering to work I have tried everything I know of but unlike on my Linux machine whenever I plug the phone in using the USB cable nothing connects like on the Linux machine it connects automatically. But I have to the wifi hotspot and on windows things seem a lot faster like much faster compared to on Linux. I'm actually able to stream a YouTube video at 720p it does still have some buffering but overall it is faster on the windows machine compared to the Linux machine

If the USB tethering would work on the windows machine I think it would be even faster. But it is performing better on the windows than on the Linux. Which tho the s22 ultra performed way better on both

Open Device Manager (right click Start menu > Device Manager)

If you see:
Remote ndis or rndis
That is the USB internet and should work.

If you don't see that and you see any unknown devices or anything with a yellow warning triangle.

need to install a driver. (Or use different USB port)

You see rndis:
Check network connections and see if theres any issues
Hold down windows key + tap r
ncpa.cpl
Hit enter

Johnnyloans Yeah i looked at that and i don't see any thing that says rndis or ndis and there isn't any yellow warning triangle either . where can i get the driver?

When you plug in your phone, you'll have to see which new device is added to the list of devices. Maybe take a screenshot and compare. (in the link below "COM" is what was added when they plug in the hotspot). Might have to select a menu at the top and then "scan for hardware changes".

Whichever device is added when you plug in the phone will have to have the driver updated to rndis. If it pops up as a phone or something that isn't completely wrong then idk what you should do.

I helped someone else with this recently.

On windows open Device manager

Turn on usb tethering on the phone and plug it into the laptop.

you should see a device appear called CDC NCM with a ! ⚠️ symbol

Right click on that > properties > update driver > browse my computer for drivers > let me pick from a list > network adapters> Microsoft > UsbNcm Host Device > click through the warning and it should then see the network
