Andorid Will the supported Motorola devices be stock devices you can buy everwhere in the stores?

you can buy them already at resellers / normal stores can you not?
I mean it is not illegal to resell a phone so i doubt this will be a thing, or what is the reason for this fear? is this a thing?

My point is, buying a device anonymously is something I really prefer.
Are there already Motorola devices buyable, that will support GOS or will run GOS on future M. devices?

no sry i ment, you can buy motorolla device in a physical store, so i doubt they are going to change that for this specific device

The really greatest thing imaginable would be a GrapheneOS Linux distribution, but that would be too much asked for I guess😇

GrapheneOS is Linux but with a different userspace software stack rather than the glibc, systemd, GNOME and other software most people use on desktop Linux. We don't want to use that desktop software stack since it's a lot further from the goals we're working towards

GrapheneOS is Linux, of course if you mean a GrapheneOS with Systemd + GNU + KDE/Gnome + etc etc then No, you will likely never see one for the desktop marketplace because

1) The Desktop Hardware is extremely variable and insecure(and even some of the Security hardware features aren't implemented correctly by the manufacturers)

2) The GNU/Linux ecosystem itself is extremely insecure and needs a lot of hardening to get it to a decent level. and even with that work an OS Like SecureBlue is still incredibly behind that of MacOS and Windows.

Current Pixels are still going to be supported and we intend to add support for future Pixels too. We have a Pixel 10a ordered and will be adding support for it. We're adding additional choices via future Motorola devices without losing the already available Pixel option.

WAU3604 Well there's no need for a desktop version. There is the desktop mode. Insha Allah (if the desktop mode becomes mature), you will just have to buy a lapdock and you will have a GrapheneOS laptop.

WAU3604 I don't know what a "GrapheneOS Linux distribution" means. But I think it might be of limited utility with a mature desktop mode.

Dboy I think its still two different things, just like even though Google makes the Chromebook, GrapheneOS isn't installable on it. I imagine the Lenovo tablet is the same way

I'm in the exact same situation... Pixel tablet isn't available in my country + it's too slow for my workflow. I know one thing for sure that the partnership is between Motorola so they won't work with Lenovo product but I'm still day dreaming about moto version of legion tab. I really hope they make an 8'8 inch moto tab with bypass charging and dual type-C port and it already comes with 8 elite chip but it's very less likely to happen as it might decrease the Lenovo sales.

It will fully support using other operating systems including users making their own builds of GrapheneOS. It's part of our hardware requirements. We'll likely be able to make hardened builds of firmware and drivers which can be released in an official way for easy builds without needing to extract anything from the GrapheneOS or Motorola OS factory images.

The entirely of the firmware and operating system are cryptographically verified with downgrade protection. The secure element is used to store the version metadata for downgrade protection for the OS and efuses are used for the firmware portion of it. It's fully integrated with the A/B update system with automatic rollback until reaching the home screen successfully.

It's the status quo on existing devices and has been one of the hardware requirements for GrapheneOS support for many years. Verified boot was introduced on the Nexus 5X and moved to an earlier version of the current approach with the Pixel 2. We've supported it since it was available and began considering it a requirement shortly afterwards. We only supported 2 generations of devices prior to it being available which could still be locked and had the firmware verification.

i am really inntrested in how that all works, since i still think most of the firmware is qualcomm binary blobs essentially,

We're working a lot with Motorola and a little bit with Qualcomm directly. Most of the work with Qualcomm is through Motorola but we're in direct contact with their security team too.

GrapheneOS surely be developed to run on mid range devices they need to make it more accessible to people not everyone can afford a high end device.

Most people are curious in what they doo nowadays we want to be private not in fear of being tracked or logged we don't want digital presence/ footprint we just want to able to use the device then when device is not in use nothing is there.

Alot of the security offered by graphene is because of the hardware,
i would rather complain to the people making the devices fhat they make secure hardware a premium feature
