Keep installation origin between profiles

Hi.
I believe a couple of months back the official grapheneos account hinted at the possibility of keeping application installation origin stored between profiles.
As I install all my apps on my main profile and use my banking apps on a seperate profile I'd appreciate the change as it would allow me to use ex. Revolut without installing Play Store for a second time.
@GrapheneOS if you could confirm again if this is possible and planned

AFAIK, the install source is the last one to have installed or updated an app on any profile.
If you copy an app into another profile, the new install source on all profiles is the one that installs it in the new profile (grapheneos if you install through the system, or Files if you install it via the APK you copied into the new profile, etc).

Re-install or update the app from Play Store in one profile, and the install source will be Play Store in all profiles where the app is already installed.

In other words, last install source on any profile = install source on all profiles.

schklom well I just updated my Revolut app from the Play Store that was previously installed on both profiles, it is still giving me an "unsupported app store" error.
Could someone confirm if that is how it works or if it needs some tinkering under the hood from GrapheneOS team

Open Settings, Apps, click on Revolut, scroll down, check what the install source is.
If it still is not Play Store, try in your non-banking profile to uninstall+reinstall Revolut, then verify the install source in both profiles, it should be Play Store.

It could be that Revolut now checks if Play Store is available on its profile, but that's another question.

schklom On my owner profile with play store installed I have Store information in the app settings for Revolut but even with your method it just isn't coming up in my Banking profile. I only have the target sdk info, whenthe app was installed and updated and that's it. Maybe play services just need to be installed in the Banking profile too and there's currently no way around it.

Okay, yeah, for the labelisation to get triggered the profile needs to have Google Play Services installed. At that point Revolut recognises that it got installed by the Play Store from the Owner profile and lets me enter. At no point did I need to login to the Play Store with a Google account and as soon as I logged into Revolut I deleted sandboxed play services and Revolut continues running like normal.

It is weird how it functions but I guess I got a solution for my use case. Thanks for the help.

They could also be kept installed but disabled, should you need them again just fire them up. That way you wont need to reinstall and reconfigure them.
