Klingerman01 Anyone have experience with this music player? https://github.com/theovilardo/PixelPlayer it looks good and it appears to be open source. But I would like to know if anyone else has tried it before I pull the trigger.
Novalissoide Klingerman01 tested an install. It's the first player so far of the ones i've tried that refuses to even start without enabling Google Play Services.
Novalissoide Klingerman01 I think would be better, but it depends on if the AI-features of that Pixel player is desirable to you or not. π https://github.com/marlboro-advance/mpvEx/releases
Klingerman01 Novalissoide to be fair I'm stuck with Google play services since my service is Google Fi. And I need wifi calling/texting. A little lower suggested a player I'm trying now. I just liked the aesthetic of the one I was asking about. It's not a hard requirement.
Novalissoide NetRunner88 the feature list have things like: Daily Mix - AI-powered personalized playlist based on listening habits So the Services kind of makes sense, if those 'features' is what's desired.
Novalissoide Klingerman01 no issues at all using Sandboxed Google Play in GrapheneOS, but I think the main media player app should be functioning at least on a basic level without strictly requiring the Google Play stuff to be fired up.
gMan their software stack is a turn-off for me and that it apparently requires google play to even function make it complete junk IMO
calpurtmun Novalissoide I haven't used that app in a long time but I just downloaded it again and it's broken for me too. The app wouldn't even launch. I wish I could edit my post to remove that recommendation.
Novalissoide calpurtmun understood. Yes, I guess most of us got some postings we'd rather delete. βΊοΈπββοΈ
nologo Booming Music is another nice option. Unlike most others it has proper ReplayGain support, an absolute must for me in a local music player. It also handles large collections well (unlike Auxio).
