I left the Speed trap warning active in OSMand. But most of the time I dont need it as I dont drive much and when i do I stay within speed limits ;-)

I know Mapy.cz

It is proprietary and without an account not much works. But it is reaally easy to use and has offline functionality.

I personally use OSMAnd~

Do any of these alternative solutions run in Android Auto?

And does running in Android Auto negate all of the privacy achieved by using a non-Google app? Meaning does Google get all the location data anyway via Android Auto?

    Organic Maps does aafik.

I do have to update my previous post.

Pretty much just using GMAPS full time - none of the alternatives come near the functionality of gmaps.

(not saying that gmaps is 'worth' the spying... but from a feature/functionality standpoint there isn't any question which works best).

For me the best way is:

    Open GmapsWv
    Search For Adres
    Tap share button
    Open with OsmAnd
    Make a route
    And enjoy :)

Also you can add adress for improve osmand experience

Here we go? not foss but works offline, download the maps then disable network permission.

I really like using MagicEarth. It uses OpenStreetMap maps, which I prefer. I can also download maps and get a warning if I exceed the speed limit or if there is a speed camera on the route.
ME also offers traffic jam avoidance and displays the delay clearly. ME also works with Android Auto.
