d9780 I assume you mean user profiles? There is a toggle for that in Profile settings.
If you enable it, SMS and call history will be accessible to apps in that user profile that also has appropriate user permissions. Such apps also will be able to send new SMS or make phone calls.
Depending on how you use profiles, you may want to disable this toggle for some profiles as an extra assurance that no app in that profile will have access to SMS/calls. However even with this toggle on explicit user permission is required for apps to be able to do that.
I also consider MMS as both attack channel and attack surface and disable this toggle for profiles that clearly don't need it.
The downside of disabling the toggle is when this user profile is active you won't be able to answer calls or see/reply to text messages. You will still hear the incoming call just won't be able to answer it, can switch to another profile where calls are allowed and return the call. And with SMS you can enable forwarding notifications to currently active user profile so you know you received a new SMS and can switch profile and read it or reply.
