Try searching in your preferred search engine (make sure it's not in incognito tab) then open Vanadium settings / Search Engine and you should see an option to set your search engine as default.

You can't add extensions to Vanadium, you can use network-based ad blockers

    gpad1 following on from DeletedUser115 if say Startpage.com was your preferred option, the only way to get that particular search engine added to the list would be to go to the site settings, change HTTP Request method from POST to GET then do a search, add the engine and then change it back from GET to POST.

          This worked and I added few new search engines.
          It didn't work for Brave search.

            You can use !sp to access startpage when DuckDuckGo is set and using a PrivateDNS like AdGuard or NextDNS works well for adblocking

            Besides Qwant I use Nextdns and route all my Traffic through Wireguard and Pi-hole at my home addres.

            Where do you see that in the mobile Vanadium browser site settings?? The only adjustables we have are three toggles for JavaScript JIT, Ads, and Sound.

                Andor This refers to the website own settings page. E.g. for startpage.com it is https://startpage.com/do/settings
                Scroll down, near the bottom there is HTTP request method option, switch to get, and the engine should appear in the Vanadium settings after you searched something

                  I would like to add to this.

                  I run a custom SearXNG instance on my home server using Yunohost (a reverse proxy) and would like to default to this on Vanadium.

                  I have checked my SearXNG settings and confirm it's on GET. I have also ran approximately 20 searches and am not seeing the option to use this as my default being populated in the Search Engine portion in Vanadium. I have tried both with and without my VPN turned off. I have tried with new tabs. I have flushed all caches and rebooted. The issue persists.

                  When I first login to the reverse proxy I am given an error about it being a dangerous site, but once proceeding and logging in SSL is good and the cert is verified. Could this be the issue? For reference, I tested with another known domain that is configured this way and I received the same error, so I suspect this is a Chromium security feature.

                  Hoping anyone can shed some light on this? I am rather frustrated.

                      broadside9 i'm also using searXNG as a default search engine in my chromium based browser (brave & vanadium). It's been a while i've had set this up, and has some frustations aswell adding it as default in browser, but remember ultimatly it had something to do with my config. I'm using a reverse proxy aswell. Not sure anymore but it might have been as simple as declaring the domain used at reverse proxy in the configfile somewhere on the searxng host. Perhaps clear all cookies & data aswell before re-attempting in vanadium. Could also be the ssl cert, as mine is trusted by the device. Nevertheless a custom searXNG instance works on vanadium, so i assume something on your config with searxng or reverse proxy is off, or perhaps the ssl certificate.
